Crater Formation on Venus

Impact craters are the most frequent geologic features across the Solar System. Major part of my studies is focused on craters' formation and evolution. iSALE is one of the best tools for simulating the impact process.
During my PhD I worked on the evolution of Venusian impact craters, in particular Mead Basin. Currently, I am working on formation and evolution of Venusian impacts in a broader perspective. I model the impact process and then, the potential relaxation.
The animation above demonstrates the formation of Mead basin on Venus (~270 km).
